Tsb 11-7-7

Beware of adding any modifications to your Coyote engine. Here is a copy of the TSB that I talked about in another thread. According to this modifications to the air induction system, pcm calibration, super chargers, Nitrous, throttle bodies and exhaust air path systems could void your warranty if you experience motor trouble. BEWARE!

We have seen tsb's like this on the diesel trucks for years now. It's always at your own risk that's for sure. My advice is do lots of research before you buy any parts and especially tunes.

Yes I agree, but myself I am scared as hell to put a custom tune on my car now, due to all the horror stories out there, and realistically besides an axle back exhaust, what other performance upgrades for the Coyote can you make that don't require a custom tune? :?
|
Haven't they had this TSB for a while? I mean the 4.6 stangs are the same as with the 5.0's. You tune it and if that causes a problem goodbye warrenty.

I had coffee with my service rep at Ford, and he suggested this as an upgrade, and assurred me that I will still have warranty, but admits that HP gains are nowhere near what others offer, such as Steeda. Also he is looking into the warranty thing, as the powertrain warranty will likely be decreased. I really wish that they could approve companies such as Steeda, and a couple other reputable ones for calibration tunes and still honor the warranty.

^^ Well if that's the case, screw it! I'm not waisting a bunch of time for 16hp. I will wait it out for a while before making any performance upgrades I guess.
