What are the chances??
I am currenlty pulling my car apart and doing some welding on it, plus I need to do brakes.
Any ways I pulled the passengers tire off and I noticed a leak wall: YEP it was rear end fluid Suicide: The rearend just got built starting of Sept. All new Seals, bearings, etc... It never leaked before.......This is not good. What are the chances of me twisting the axle that time I gave on er and she hooked up on me on the street. Would I have been able to twist the axle or even bend it...? I also noticed a slight NEW vibration back there, before I put it away. Not only do I have to do brakes, suspention, and tons of welding....But now im into axles. Looks like I can see a nice 31 Spline Strange axles, mini spool, carrier....in the mail soon. fingers: Might better do a tub while im at it......! I love my Slug :hump: |
Might as get the TFS rear end girdle while you are burning money as well ;) hehehehe
And dear God, don't get a spool!!!!!!!!!! |
If I race it I would like for it to leave in a streight line.
Yeah I forgot to mention the girdle. |

Yeah I forgot to mention the girdle. A spool SUCKS on the street. Noah has one in the Camaro and it hops the inside wheel around every corner, and you can feel it bind up whenever you try to turn, it REALLY SUCKED. |
I had a spool in my old S10. Speaking of that I just sold it about 6 months ago!
Really it wasnt that bad. But bad alot of noise from the tires. lol That was a fast $110.00 fine |
Maybe it's worse on longer wheelbase vehicles? I'm serious, it was horrible on the Camaro.
Anyways, get an Eaton if you are hell bent on an aftermarket POSI. With these new "Street Racing" laws, last thing you want is your spool making your tires chirping and getting your car impounded for "stunting". |

Could've bent an axle pretty easily, that would explain the leak and the vibration.
Whenever I have my axles out, I always draw a line on them from spline to flange, that way if I think one is bent-I can see it clearly. |

I wouldnt think it would bend an axle on the street with a non sticky street tire on it. It would just spin the tires before putting enough stress on the axle to cause it to bend.
I have a Richmond LOCK-RIGHT in my car, it works great at the track but is kind of a pain in the ass on the street. I dont think you will be happy with a stock posi at the strip, I found mine would not hold with E/T streets and would only spin one tire in the burn out box. |
