Why clutch is softer then before?

My clutch was always very hard to press for over two years but this year it just went softer. It still shifts good no slipping. What do you think?

Thanks, Rob.

My guess is something to do with the pressure plate.

So if it is the pressure plate I may as well put a new clutch while I have it torn apart?

If its apart I would replace all components. Disc, plate, release bearing, pilot bearing, cable. I would also look at an aftermarket quadrant and adjuster.

My tech wants to know if the Mustang has a hydraulic clutch/external or internal ?? He said it may just need to be bled if its not slipping & changing gears with no problems??

Neither, it's a cable operated clutch. No bleeding required.

I forgot to mention that you can try "adjusting" it by using your foot to pull up on the clutch pedal.

.

The clutch is not down? It doesn't need to be pulled up the clutch. Maybe it needs to be "adjusted" ??
