Ok well winter is pretty much here, and my plan for adding some HP to the Stang is hopefully about to start, but before I get more power I need to find a way to get some traction to the ground. So my question is, "What do you know about sub-frame connectors?" Will this be a big improvement? And finally what else can I do to gain traction before I get carried away on the power side of things.(I'll ask about power adders as soon as I get the $ together)

You should definitely notice a difference after instaslling a set of sf connectors.

IMO the only kind to get are the full length weld in variety. Don't waste your money on the shorty or bolt on kind. They will provide an improvement vs stock but not like a full length weld in.

Also, if you are handy with a welder and can do this yourself there are 2 big things to look out for.
- do not focus too long on one section with the welder or you may catch the carpet inside the car on fire or may melt it. It is time consuming to do it right but worth it.
-the car has to obviously be raised but has to be sitting on its wheels with full weight (a ramp style lift is ideal) otherwise you will weld the connectors on with a little twist in the frame and...well...you just think how nasty your car will feel going down the road with the characteristics of a bent frame. It is a mistake many people make.

Traction can be improved by adjustable rear shocks & a good set of lower control arms. Upper arms and a torque box kit can help as well depending how far into it you want to go. Drag radials or a quality set of soft compound rear tires will also help too.

Well Thanks DTK, honeslty I can weld, but I would have definately made the mistake of putting the car on a hoist and simply welding the connectors in, never would have thought about the wheels having the weight on them:confused: It makes perfect sense, and is one of those things that I'm sure many people dont even think about.
