F/S 2 Chamber Flowmasters

Wanted to change my sound, so I'll be swapping in some Dynomax's for the Flows tomorrow. Looking for $100 + shipping FIRM. Average usage, nothing in these things to "blow out" really, so milage doesn't matter. Had 'em on for under a year though.

There's where an issue lies. Most if not all mustangs take a muffler that has an offset inlet and an offset outlet. These are offset/center, meaning it'll take a little adjustment to have them fit correctly, since the outlet is off by about 3 inches as compared to your current mufflers. They were installed on my 97 GT without much problem at all, just so ya know. They're also 2.5 inlet/outlet.

pics

Here are some pics of the mufflers now that the're off the car. They have some obvious deterioration beginning, but the shop told me they've got at least a few years left in 'em.

Yah, they're beginning to rot a bit on the outter walls that you can see through the inlet/outlet. That's why I pictured them. Believe it or not, it doesn't take long for this to start happening. Most people with Flows would see this when they took them off their car. It doesn't affect the sound though, cause they sound just as good now as they did when I got 'em 9 months ago. And the tech from the shop that did the swap for me today said they're still good for a few years at least. Obviously, i'm not hiding anything. They're not new. You get what you see. I JUST took them off my car today, and they still sounded like any other 2 chamber out there when they came off.

I don't mind, it gives me the free "bump" anyway. lol The dynomax's are nice, I'm happy with them. There's still a drone - it doesn't matter what muffler you have, there will always be one - but it's not deafening like the Flows were. Along with that though, the Dynos are a fair bit quieter at idle...almost stock, but the rest of my exhaust is also stock, so can't expect too much. Outside the car, those flows sounded great...I loved it. But I just couldn't take any more of the drone in my DD. I think the dynos sound better under WOT too, but that's just my opinion. Once I finally get a hold of a used catted X or H pipe (for a good price), I think I'll be a lot happier with the Dynomaxes.

Nick - Not to be a dick, but if you're not interested in what's for sale, don't bother asking questions. They are Flowmasters, according to my buddy from the Mufflerman that I bought them from. They're not stamped with the Flowmaster logo because there was a short time where they (flowmaster) allowed their patent to expire and produced their mufflers without the logo on them, for some reason. I don't know the whole story, but that's what I remember.

I sort of like the drone, but I cruise at a bit higher rpm on the highway.
