I have a 1995 GT convert with over 100000 miles. It has never seen winter and looks to be in showroom condition. Instead of buying new, who can do a conversion to a new engine. I am in Obtario
Crate engine
I guess that I am just looking at an alternative to the $40K plus of a new GT convert. The new coyote produces almost double my 5 litre horsepower. I am the original owner of my 95 and everything works great with the exception of the shocks. If I could transform my current ride to the power of a new one for a reasonable cost it would be great. What other components would need to be replaced? It has manual transmission.
Ford Racing sells the crate engine and control pack needed to run all of the elctronics.
Here is a write up I found. Just google SN95 Coyote swap and there is lot's of info out there.
SN-95 Coyote Engine Swap, Part 1 - Living The Dream
I think the reality of it is that you would really have to love your car to spend the time and money on a swap like this. If you can do it yourself it halps a lot but paying for labor could be very costly. Have you considered a supercharger or even a heads/cam/intake swap? If you keep an eye out you can find some good deals on these items.
