Need info on tuners

Hello all,I'm trying to find good info on tuners, like the sct ,just wanted to learn how to connect them,what they do? any risk factors, etc.also what is your experience with them?thanks.

I have the Brenspeed SCT on my 2005 4.0L and on my 2007 GT. On both Mustangs I also have cold air induction kits and different exhaust kits.

What the tuners do is remap the Ford computer process for better air & fuel mixture and smoother transmission shifting. The result is normally more horsepower and some fuel savings.

The modual connection is made though a port under the dash on the driver's side. I think the only risk factor would be if you return the Mustang for servicing at a Ford dealership they will return the processor to the stock tune. This means you will have to re-apply the your custom tune when you get the Mustang out of the Ford shop. It also helps to talk directly to the tuner supplier directly so that they can arrange a tune depending on the modifications you may have done to your ride. Hope this helps.
