Which one gives better hp numbers?????

I have never really done any reading on this question and I'm thinking with the great minds on this site someone can educate me. Oh I am not thinking of doing this but more of an education type thing.

If you were going to turbo your car would you run 1 turbo or 2 smaller turbos. Does one application have a benefit over the other?? I am curious as to your opinions on this question:chacha:

I remember reading somewhere that one big turbo out performs 2 smaller ones. I could be wrong, I'm not a turbo guy. I prefer superchargers, I always associate turbo's with ricers. No offense to anyone here with one.

My understanding is 1 big turbo will make more power but at a higher rpm. 2 smaller turbo's will spool up quicker giving better driveablity. I have no personal experience on this though.

One big turbo will make more power, but it will have more lag. The OEM solution (generally speaking) is to run twins, with one small and one larger turbo. The smaller one spools up quick to give some boost down low until the larger turbo can spool up and make the big numbers.

The exact design of the Powerstroke.

My nephews swear by the Cummins motor, are they right? They are farmers
