Wet Nitrous Kit

I have an '86 GT and wanna add a wet nitrous system. what kit do you recommend in terms of best bang for the buck keeping in mind price, performance and ease of installation (DIY)? fyi, i'm not building a pure racing machine, nor is it a daily driver. i'm just building a mean hobby car, that i'm gonna drive on the street in good weather and take to the track once or twice a summer to see how my mods have improved the car's performance.

thanks for your input guys

cheers

Hey Steve, the ZEX kits are pretty foolproof instalation wise, and work very well. Most of the entry level kits are around the same $$$ regardless of who makes it. I had a wet Compucar Kit on my car with heads cam and intake it went 11.8@121 with a 1.82 60ft on a 125 shot, and of the bottle was great on gas and very reliable, open the bottle and it was fast as hell. I would recomend getting a perge valve, a bottle heater and a pressure gauge to go with it. Hope this helps TTYL

just grab a used dry shot for $400-500, jet it to 75 and go...

yep I agree wet kits are extremely safe, but a dry kit is just quick and dirty lol

well the only problem I have with Dry kits is that you are relying on your MAF to compensate for the extra fog going into the engine. then there's nothing stopping it from pooling in a single cylinder... wreaking havoc on your internals

i've got a ZEX wet kit going into my Eclipse with a 75hp shot

I'm also using a ZEX wet kit with my 5.4 4v and it's a very nice kit !
don't forget to buy a window switch and maybe a wideband for extra safety

Umm, do some more research before you spit stuff like this please. dry kits are actually safer on a stock 5.0 than the wet kits are. You run the risk of the wet kit puddling not the dry kit. The dry kit uses your stock injectors to add more fuel by bumping your fuel pressure(what could be safer than that). The maf actually has nothing to do with it. The extra Oxygen is supplied by the nitrous, and the nitrous does not run through your maf. The biggest drawback of the dry kit is they are limited to around 150 hp.

The best bang for the buck on a stock 5.0 is definately a nitrous kit. The ZEX kit is a good kit, but definately not the best for a 5.0
