how much are u making 1000 h.p.?....other than that 2:73's are unheard of to switch down too because of power....

i don't care how much power you are making.....even the smallest gear i've ever heard of in a big hp motor is a 2.73

maybe you shoudl just learn to drive lol

Well I had A stock 88 lx 2:73's ran a 14.1. I have swapped gears and have had MANY Stangs and 2:73's Pull very good. Less spinning off the line You stay longer in each gear don't have to shift as much and pulls way better speed(top end) I went through the taps in 3rd at 105 mph with 2:73's And if your beside some one with 3:73's and you have 2:73's and your running at say 60 kmph you floor it at the same time you will pull away from them.(now this is street racing Not the track !! Anyone who does not like my thought's or douts them, Call me will Race ! 905-662-9859 Ask for Ryan.

that theory only work depending on your power band....my z28 at 60 in third is totally diff than 60 in second...i have 3:42 even if we were same hp which were not...mechanically my car would easily walk away as mine will spin up faster....its all about power band...lower gears longer range but much slower off the line....taller gears(higher) must faster spin up but run out faster...i had 4:10's in my z28 with a 6 speed...top end was 162 m.p.h....yes m.p.h. not k.m.p.h. and that was at 4500 r.p.m.....i have raced many a vette with 2:72 and easily smoked em....you may want to rethink your theory a bit......
