WTB: Clean, original Foxbody Mustang...
Hey folks,
Considering picking up foxbody Mustang to play with this summer. Not sure on budget yet but something $10K or less. Prefer something original and low in kms. Performance mods are ok but must still be considered a daily driver. Key things I am looking for but will consider otherwise: - notchback but will consider hatch - lower the km the better - must be all original - no rust - power group - a/c - manual transmission Let me know what you have for sale. Looking to buy in the next 2-6 weeks. Please e-mail pictures and description to: shaun.chaud@gmail.com or PM Thanks in advance :tup |

Hey thanks for the kind words... Should be fun. I use to have an 07 California Special just over a year ago and I'm getting that itch again but this time I am feeling the retro :)
I am hoping to find something at a good price so I can either supercharge or turbo asap. I've got my eyes on a '93 stock LX 5.0 notchback loaded to the tits with 220,000 on the clock. The owner is looking for $8K but problem is I don't know if thats a good deal or not so I am holding out longer to see what else pops up before jumping on the first thing I see. |
Two years ago I noticed 2 Fox GT's for sale in Calgary with under 30,000 k and the best part is they were un-molested. I think the owners were asking in the 15-20,000 range which to me is fair. Keep your eyes peeled as I am sure there are low mileage Ponies out there.

You do realize that you can buy clean foxes that are already done to the T for not much more than you are willing to spend. Heck, you can get clean mustangs with the simple bolt ons of exhaust, gear, frame connectors etc and save a FORTUNE doing so. If you are planning to mod, do yourself a HUGE favor and consider buying a lightly modded fox. If you have 15k to blow or atleast plan to blow that, save a few more K and buy a Cobra. Remember, people selling foxes generally sniff glue and price their cars accordingly. I have seen bone stock low mileage black on black LXs sell for $4000 that were clean and blew cold AC. Dont get sucked into over paying. |
Interesting perspective... Let me elaborate a little further so you can understand my positioning.
As you will notice by my early post I have only ever owned a S197 so I plead some ignorance in the foxbody department so when I ask or wonder if $8K is a fair deal for that particular Mustang its because I naturally don't know any better. Sure being a car dealer myself I know that blackbook/wholesale on these cars is only about $1,400 if that but that not relavent in this case. When I say I am looking for a clean, original car I mean I am looking for a car that is as close to OEM as possible especially esthetics. I am not overly concerned as whats going on the hood or driveline as long as its done right and proper. I don't think that such an un-realistic expectation cosidering what I have seen for sale on here in the past. My budget is limited at this point so I will have to work with what I got. Going from $10K to $15 and on to $20K is fair difference at this end of the scale. If we were talking $100K and $105K then I would see your point. What I am noticing is a wide varity in prices with no real balance so when I perceive something to be a good deal I suppose I will go for it. Hopefully I make a little more sense now :) Sorry for the confusion. |
So many cars for a wide variety of prices for sure, again good luck.

Shouldn't be too tough to find and I agree, buy something that is already modded as you will save some cash for sure.
