1986 GT motor and 5 speed tranny
1986 Ford Mustang GT 5.0 302 with factory 5 spd tranny:
I have changed my mind about keeping the motor and tranny and i was wondering if anyone out there would be interested in purchasing this. I will be pulling the motor and tranny possibly this weekend so if anyone wants a running motor and tranny, or if you would like to split the two, please let me know. If you are doing a 2.3 to 5.0 conversion, i could possibly sell the computer and harness as well. All depends on who wants the motor. I will be doing a compression test this week as well and will give the purchaser the information. Motor and tranny both have 220,000 km's on them and both ran strong. Clutch seems to be perfect but even with that many k's i think while i had it out i would replace it, that is totally up to the buyer. If you would like to hear it run before the weekend please let me know as it will be out friday or saturday. This transmission would be perfect for someone wanting to do an auto to manual conversion as i do have the complete clutch quadrant as well as driveshaft and crossmember. Asking $600.00 for both motor and tranny |

The compression test Numbers are in and they are as follows:
Cylinder # 4: 150 Cylinder # 8: 150 Cylinder # 3: 150 Cylinder # 7: 150 Cylinder # 2: 150 Cylinder # 6: 151 Cylinder # 1: 150 Cylinder # 5: 152 Now as you can tell the numbers surprisingly are all consistent. For 220,000km's this absolutely blows my mind as i wasn't expecting the numbers to match up as close as they did. I figured there would be some numbers atleast 20% below or above, but she is solid. For anyone that is interested in the motor and does not believe the above numbers and would like to see the numbers for themselves, you are more then welcome to bring your own compression tester and give it a shot. P.S, These numbers are accurate as the motor was at normal operating temperature and all fluids are where they should be. Take my word when i say numbers are consistent as the gauge doesn't lie. |
