Outta my mind?!?!?

Hey all,
I have an amazing 2000 V6 with only 90000 kms, that I have maintained meticulously, and have an offer at $7800. This car comes with
-New Starter, and live feed to the starter
-Full fluid and filter swap in auto trans
-Mach 460 Stereo, with upgraded deck (original provided)
-Dark tinted windows in rear, 35% in front
-Spare set of summer mags, 17" Klasse with Z rubber, original factory alums with 15" blizzak winter tires, both 90% or better
-2 way remote start (command start is when the wife says "start my car")
-Lady driven since 48000, old man driven before that. (really old)

The only three concerns I have
-The lower rad cradle hit something and is bent on the driver's side. (That was the old man driving. Other than a few scrapes on the lower bumper cover, no damage from us)
-The passenger control arm was hit and shows visible damage (It passed two inspections, and drive like a charm, the damage isn't that bad)
-The new deck "pops" for lack of a better word, when it powers up. I think the amp is live and the "soft on" isn't wired correctly.

I am taking the offer, but the buyer is taking it for an inspection on Friday. If he offers less, where should my lowball be? I don't want to feel taken, but as the fellow is "representing" his son (17-18 yrs old) I want the kid to get a fair bargain. The car is solid. I wouldn't even be selling it if I didn't need the down payment on a new SUV. I currently drive a GEO to and from work, as my truck doesn't get the mileage I need it to, and would gladly drive the 'Stang!

Any thoughts??

Well you wont this this but your car Black book value is I believe about 4000 to 4500 for a Clean car which translates into between 6000 and 7000 for sale and that would have to be etested and certified for that price. If it was me I would not go lower than 5500 to 6000 if the car is etested and certified if not then the prices would have to be dropped drastically it would likely be at the 4 to 5000 dependent on how sticky the mechanic will be on the dammaged suspension. Hope this dont piss you off but I did research just last year on this year of mustang for my son as wel hope this helps.l

I Calgary you can buy a 06gt with mid 20k's at a dealership for 21,000.00.:banghead:

It doesn't piss me off. I really don't believe that the Black Book is an accurate tool, for anyone other than insurance adjustors (Vampires) who think they are God (I think they're Satan's minions).
The car goes in tomorrow for a full inspection, I will see what that brings. Unless the fellow shows me a sheet from the mechanic that states something needs repair, I will neither replace/repair or drop my price much. I'm not going lower on a bunch of "The mechanic said.........." that game could go on forever.
Truthfully, if the car isn't worth $6500 or better, than it stays in my driveway. I don't need it gone. I just don't need a fourth vehicle, for two people. If I have one lying around, my leech brother will decide he should be allowed to use it. For nothing.

6500 sounds about right... dont follow that black book because you are right it's just for the vampires doing satans dirty work.

V6 and under 100,000 kms puts it in the 6-7range for me.

Thanks for the support. Like I said, I really only am getting rid of it to make room in the driveway. And the extra cash for a down payment doesn't hurt either.

BTW I am not a sales man or and insurance guy just for the record lol. Yes the Black book is skewed but it all so come in handy when using it against a car dealler that thinks they have a goldmine I say use thier tools against them.. And it does matter if it is certified and etested too which I asume you are going to do.

Not unless they ask for it.... this potential sale the buyer is paying himself.

eli98 02-19-2009 04:48 PM
