3M Scratch and Scuff Kit

One of the tasks of trying to restore a vehicle with slight scratches in the clear coat is their removal. On the 2007 GT the previous owner or rental/lease customers appeared to want to open the door with a key rather than use the key remote to unlock the doors. This left numerous scratches around both door handles. There were also scratches on the hood and roof.

I happened to find the attached video on the 3M Scratch and Scuff Remover and found the process as a probable way to remove the 07's scratches. So I bought the kit and I would say that 90% of the scratches have been removed. The key to the kit is the 2 inch by 2 inch 3000 Grit Trizact sandpaper that is used on the clearcoat, followed by 3M compound and then the scratch remover. The kit cost $22.89 at Canadian Tire. Well worth the money.
