Best pads for polishing and waxing

Hi gang

I recently bought a PC 7424XP and want to know which pads are good for regular polishing and waxing on a new surface.

Cheers

On a brand new car I would do it by hand. To me a polisher is only needed is you have deep scratches or a car completely full of swirls.

Anyone else? There has to be a few that use the Porter cable?

I'm with Chad on this one, the only time I would use a power polisher is if you're trying to get rid of swirls or light scratches. By hand is always my preferred method, and with your car being so new, you shouldn't have any swirls to worry about yet.

Have a browse through this old thread, and check out the link, it may help you decide. It covers pretty much everything when in comes to detailing a car.

New car or not, depends on what you want to do.
Not all pads are for swirl removal, there are jewel/finishing pads out there...You can get LESS agressive pads out there. These pads are softer than some buffing towels out there.

I picked up my 7424xp after my car was keyed and got repainted, never looked back.
Takes 6+ hours to do it properly by hand when the 7424xp can do it within an hour or two.

Lake Country 6.5" CCS Orange Light Cutting Pad for swirl removal using Meg's 105 compound.

And for finishing pad or applying polish/wax use the:
Lake Country 6.5" CCS Black Finishing Pad, using Meg's 205/ Zaino polishes.

Thanks. I am looking for a pad for applying and polishing wax and polish. Nothing too aggressive. I dont want to spend all day hand polishing my stang when I could be cruising. Plus IMO you get better results with a polisher

For your specific needs, here are the two I recommend. Black for polishing, blue for wax as a final coat.
Both links are from a site sponser:
eShine Canada: Lake Country 6.5" CCS Black Finishing Pad
eShine Canada: Lake Country 6.5" CCS Blue Finessing Pad
Also, refer to chart showing the different uses for each pad.

Here are some finished pics - Keep in mind, this is only using Megs 105 + Zaino product. Car has been winter driven for 3 winters now. No photoshopping, I promise.
