Bugs!
Help! I am wondering if anyone has any idea of a good product to remove bugs from the paint. Recently I drove through a swarm of fish flies and I cant seem to get them out of my paint.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. |
a dryer sheet with soap and water. Its abrasive enought to pull the bugs off, but wont scratch the paint. Wax will help protect but not really remove once the damage has been done,
i've heard of guys using diesel fuel, but have a bucket of soapy water handy to clean up after... wd40 also....but again a bucket of soapy water... or any bug and tar remover from crapy tire should do the trick.... :teeth: |
Thanks, I will try the dryer sheet and the wd 40 since the stuff from the "Tire" didnt do a thing.

you can buy bug and tar wipes from Crappy Tire...they are gold...I use them all the time.

Thanks guys, I spent a couple hours out there today trying to get them off. The WD 40 worked great getting the bugs off but I think it is too late since it is still showing in the clear coat. I think it is about time for a good wet sanding or just a new paint job (this will help me with nice scratch I found the other day)!!

turtle makes two kinds, a heavey duty and a regular. i use the HD once or twice. :thumb1: |
Avoid repainting, nothing sticks like the original paint.

Eshine.ca sells a fantastic product called Bugsquash made by Poorboys. Try it, it works very well!
