Electric polishers?

Anyone use these things? Are they safe? Sounds like an invitation to swirl marks.

I think it depends how you use them. You're talking polishers not buffers right? I had a buddy who used to own a body shop years ago, since retired, but he said if you're not careful, some of these polishers will polish the paint right off. If you use one of those low speed random orbitals I think you're OK, but the heavy duty stuff you gotta be careful with.

I actually meant the orbital type buffers you get from Canadian Tire, etc.

Same here,i prefer by hand. :tup
If used incorrectly, one can do more damage then good.

I use a porter cable random orbit, ez to use & safe . Trick is to clay the car 1st or else you can make a big mess. Got my stuff from EShine & the detail shop. I like the smaller pads to work out scratches & blems on the stang as it has more body contours than my truck. FWIW the CTC wen or simoize RA polishers are a waste of money. Just get a PC and a good assortment of polishing pads.

Why do it by machine when there's nothing better than a good hand job? lol Orbital types are pretty good if you're looking to save some time - you can do the whole car in less than half an hour start to finish, but the hand job approach is better for a nice afternoon with a cold beer(s) and some crunchy tunes. Snakebite is the in-house Yoda Jedi Master when it comes to waxing, so I'd follow him!!!

Thanks. I figured I would give it a try (machine) but it's a waste of time. With perfect paint the hand is quicker
