Lambo doors are for the ghey (and for Lambos)

Thank you for the pics, and thank you for your lovely comments.....lol so lambo doors on mustangs not a big thing. Thats cool, just thought it looked cool on other cars, wanted to see some mustangs with it. Thanks though
|
I don't have any pics, but my buddy has 'em on his '99, they're a major pain to install, they add quite a bit of weight to the car and are very cumbersome and hard to operate, in case you care.
|
I agree with Areo they did get riced!
and for 85Cobra opinions DO matter if it were me id want opinions aswell to no how other ppl feel against this kinda thing, it would suck to spend how ever much money on lambodoors and come to find out that everyone hated it id be upset but sorry again just my opinion cheers :thumb1: Now suicide that would be pretty cool anyone have pics with suicide doors on 94-98 mustangs??? |

I'm sure having lambo doors your Mustang is grounds for immediate banning. lol

It should be the one that looks the best, mods with cleanest installs, quality paint, not who's spent the most dollars. Just because you have every single part on your car that a 16 year old with an acura would put on doesn't make your car any more desirable to anyone else, but hey, if it floats your goat, in the end it's your own money, and if you can live with yourself, all the power to ya. |
Lambodoors are for ricers man not for real cars
|
thought i'd seen this on here recently

Grassy..who is definately not gay :) and I specifically changed the hood for the underside presentation.....I didn't mind the top side of the factory hood at all I've judged shows too...and personally, the lambo doors don't get points from me.....IMO, the lambo doors on specific lambos were installed for accessability reasons and not for looks so seeing a modern Stang with it's doors all flipped up seems kinda retarded to me....I mean it's harder now for the driver to get in and out versus the stock swinging door.....and I like to see a car presented that looks like a car, not like some spacecraft from a kid's comic book but whatever floats your boat.....my car doesn't get the ooohs and ahhhhhs while it's just sitting there with all the panels closed....it just looks like a super clean factory car that's been tweaked because it's sitting low and has blinged out hot rod wheels and big stinking brakes.....it's far from a body-kit queen...and IMO body-kit queens get lambo doors if you're thinking of doing the doors, put them way down on your priority list....I'd bet I could spend $30k on your car and not even get to the doors yet hopefully you'll turn the car into something really wicked with the doors swinging in factory mode I've got a few buddies with show Stangs that are at a level that'll make your tongue wag....and not one of them has lambo doors....and I'd bet large the guy in your area would be walking away empty-handed if they ever showed up at the same event |
This is from the LS1truck site I'm on. They're really not worth the hassle... Plus you have everyone (but ricers) laughing at you.

hinges 500$ materials 100$ unbelievable amount of hours trying to get it right new cab 550$ $1100 bucks wasted on something retarded, when i could of put it on something cool, like an awesome underglow system  |

..to me, they look like they are a bugger to open / close and what would they be like in a wind :) ..no interest here..I have my "list" for this year ... You guys have convinced me that a set of cragars are next..
BTW, here is a pic of that car that wins many awards..which shows you what I think of voting by the public...in this show, a stock '07 bullit won best of show..we are still shaking our heads...nick looking set of wheels but certainly not best of show...anyway, nere is the car with the gull doors and this guy has awards up the wazoo..nice gent as well...anyway http://yamigrl.smugmug.com/photos/30...5_VYT9D-XL.jpg if you look closely, you will see "side exhausts" ..actually, those are several pieces if exhause pipe cut up and glued to the side of the car..do I need to say anymore.. http://yamigrl.smugmug.com/photos/45...1_hzPSz-X3.jpg Grassy |
I guess opinions do matter, by the sounds of things lol.
I love the glue on exhaust thats sweet. lmao |
in Ontario....we don't glue our exhaust on....and we open our hoods at shows:laughhard
|
Many cars do..and some don't open their hoods..I don't..I only have a cold air kit..that pic was taken early one..here are some others..

don't care if the engine bay is bone stock or modded to hell and back, if the owner took the care and time to detail the bay then he/she gets full props from me...if the hood is closed then I assume it's not presentable and I move on IMO you don't need to have thousands spent under the hood to present the engine bay....the modern stang bays are a nice sight in stock form....and a few inexpensive caps/covers here and there with a good detail is totally cool and some folks who show their cars wanna keep them bone stock....nothing wrong with that..... the oddest thing I've seen was when a few of us Stangs attended a show put on by an exhaust shop....and there was this guy with a Sunfire (I think...mighta been a Cavalier)....he was apparently the guy to beat, he had all his friends there talkin up his "show car"......I wish I had a pic because the guys idea of presenting the engine bay included putting a huge stuffed animal on top of the engine.....you couldn't even see the motor:laughhard now that dude should kept his hood shut:biggrin: |

At the last show, we had several cars scratched by spectaters letting their purses hit the cars when looking in and the zippers putting sctraches in the paint..if I remember correctly, one car had quite the gouge. Back a bunch of years ago, I was showing my mgbgt at a night before party and one of the contestants slipped and fell on my left front fender. He was wearing a large belt buckle and he put a 14 inch gouge in my fender. What I did at the show was to tape the car's particulars over that gouge. At the mustang show last year, I was about 30 feet from my car talking to another car owner when I hear a guy say that he hated side pipes and he actually kicked my car !..he saw me coming and dissapeared into the crowd quite quickly..no damage done but it was a "wtf" coment from the contestants around me car. I now know better to stand closer and I now understand why most contestanrs come with lawn chairs :) Anyway, looking forward to some advice. Thanks Grassy |

Thanks Grassy might be worthwhile to talk with your show organisers and get a PA system to remind folks to stay back from the cars MGB GT?....nice:tup you'd like my 1990 Morgan +8:chacha: with regard to making your engine bay better (aside from properly detailing it)...you should search the likes of the Steeda site, UPR etc....look under the engine dress-up sections....tons of stuff....go to the MustangWorld.com picture section of the 05+ on the main page and lurk through all the pics of what guys have done (they usually list the mods and then you're just a google away)....the list of stuff available is endless, from polished blowers to oil caps and fuse box covers my engine bay started off looking like this http://www.mustangmods.com/ims/u/141/140/266015.jpeg then I came up with a plan and ended up like this....keep in mind this took over 4 years and I'm still doing stuff http://www.mustangmods.com/ims/u/141/140/251162.jpg the CAI tube has the name of the car airbrushed on it http://www.mustangmods.com/ims/u/141/140/181027.jpg the underside of the hood has a running pony ghosted in http://www.mustangmods.com/ims/u/141/140/187270.jpg the mods started as simple bolt-ons and then you get to a stage where nobody makes what you want so you get it done custom (the master-cylinder is a Ford factory piece that I had polished....and the reservoir cover was custom fabbed) but most of the ideas are nothing new....just "borrowed" from others and where appropriate I put my own twist on it.......I'm pretty simple....always been a fan of a hot rod with a shiny motor....so that's what I did |
All I can say is Wow !!!!!!! and wow..
however, this does give me a starting point. I do have a long way to go. No matter, I like goals. First the Cragars. I did ask the organizers about a nive rope system that would protect the cars but they thought it would drive off spectators.. What part of Ontario are you from ? I mak the pilgramage to Gan on a regular basis. If the rest of your friends do their cars uop like this, I would love to see a show. BTW, I found an excellent set of rims/tires seciond hand in the states..cannot figure out how to get them here without selling my daughter. Grassy |
