Leather seat cleaning and conditioning???
 

Hey guys,

I have a 94 GT with black leather seats. I want to keep em mint! What should I use. I got this saddle soap stuff I think it's called.......with the car but not too familiar with it............any inputs appreciated!

I use Mothers Reflection cleaner/conditioner. works good. Not problems and it keeps the leather looking new. It does not put a shine on it if that is what you are looking for. good luck.

i used Meguiars gold class wipes they seem to work good, it cleans them pretty good. and leave a nice little shine, not too bad though, plus smells good. :tup

If you want the best possible solution make sure you use a Cleaner THEN a conditioner. Using All-In-One type products are mere compromises. Cleaning the seats properly is very important; conditioning will keep the leather soft. Also try to stay away from products that smell good, perfumes dry out the stitching, when your stitching fails, nothing else matters. I recommend Lexol Cleaner and Conditioner. Lexol starting long ago in the Horse saddle business and now makes one of the best leather care systems around. You can check out their webpage at www.lexol.com

I agree with NXGHOST. I just used Lexol for the first time last night, and I was totally impressed. I've tried lots of stuff off the shelf, and absolutely nothing compared. It was much easier to work with, was fast, and a tiny amount of product did all my seats. I applied both the cleaner and conditioner with foam pad applicators. Worked amazing!

I've read alot of bad things about saddle soap. Every article I've seen says strongly to not use it. I think it tends to pull out the oils and some of the protectants that are put in automotive leather. Definately skip the saddle soap.

Stop of at a local Krown Body maintenence and get a bottle of Luminate Leather Condtioner, Stuff works excellent and is not greasy!!..Trust me, I work there!!!

well i had to go to canadain tire today to look for some stuff for ma. i hate going on there and not buying anything, so i bout some mothers leather cleaner and a bottle of mothers leather conditioner.

well i sprayed on the cleaner and wipe it on and off, then i let it fully dry for about 10 minutes, and went back and applied the conditioner, like it said, wipe on let sit for 2+ minutes, then wipe off in a circular motion.

so i did that, and after it dried it looked like the seats were lighter in colour almost lile they dried out... :2:

would that be from it removing the my wipes left on from before, or did it actually dry it out :angry:
