Leather conditioner is a good idea for the seats. Some members here have suggested Autoglym but I haven't had a chance to use it. I have used their tire dressing which works great. It can be picked up at Canadian tire. As far as the top is yours vinyl or cloth?

Ragtop makes an excellant cleaner and conditioner for both vinyl and cloth tops. As for leather seats, I use either autoglym or mcquires rich leather.

SNAKEBITE 09-23-2011 12:12 AM

I would suggest specific proper products

douglas 09-27-2011 10:36 AM

I am a new owner of a 2001 gt with a black top and am not sure what you mean when you say specific proper products
Thanks Douglas

If the top is vinyl us a vinyl cleaner and not some generic cleaner, same for the rims rubber plastic etc

^^^^^ thanks Ronnie06Gt. I've been looking for RAGGTOPP but can't find it.
As for taking care of the top, I usually use a good vacuum with a strong suction on it regularly. Use a tool with a brush head ( hard floors), not the one that's for carpeting. Make sure the brush head is clean. I use a shopvac with the long tubes attached to make it easier to reach. I open the top halfway and get in all the creases at the back and sides ( drip rails? ). Use the small attachment ( mines round) with hair on it. I've also used those lint pickup rollers on it if I'm in a hurry ( for fluff, white lint, etc.). Give it a good light spray with the hose afterwards to get it wet and let it stand for a few minutes ( soak in). But be very, careful NOT to use too much force. I go over it this way a few times making sure it's rinsed well. Then I wash the rest of the car. Not sure about yours, but mine doesn't get driven in the rain. Hope this helps.

^^^sounds very thorough

Yeah good thing you have a hardtop. Waxing your roof takes less time than that.

Your welcome BLKnRD09gt.

Great minds must think alike.:tup Your top cleaning routine is pretty much what I do before the RAGGTOPP cleaning and protectant go on.

I use Raggttop cleaner on the GT it has the vinyl roof then apply http://www.eshine.ca/poorboys_trim_r...833.php?cat=13 for the shelby I avoid using soap, just water.. after it's dry I use a sticky lint roller. Seems to work well for me!

SNAKEBITE 09-30-2011 06:18 PM

I do mine once a month. Just finished last cleaning for winter.

SNAKEBITE 09-30-2011 11:39 PM

^^^that seems about right. I would thin a white top would be lots of work kind of like a black car

Ronnie06GT 10-01-2011 05:01 PM

, yep. How about a black car with white top, your worst nightmare.:lol

oh my God time for the looney bin tehehe

Whitelion95GT 11-03-2011 03:33 PM

I use F21 Super Protectant by Turtle Wax on my seats & dash works great for me. It can be picked up at Canadian tire.

Thanks, Whitelion.

SNAKEBITE 11-03-2011 04:51 PM

I have never heard of it, I will check it out

BLKnRD09GT 11-03-2011 11:50 PM

I'll be checking that out as well. Thanks.

Whitelion95GT 11-04-2011 12:27 AM

If you can't find the F21 Super Protectant at Canadian Tire you might find it at Wall Mart in the Auto dept.

SNAKEBITE 11-04-2011 04:40 PM

Walmart has raised their prices on some car products i.e. wax. For a while it was 20% cheaper than CT but not anymore

BLKnRD09GT 11-04-2011 11:18 PM

Not a WalMart shopper, but will try the CT for sure. Might have to try a few different stores.

SNAKEBITE 11-05-2011 06:44 AM

Do they have a Parts Source chain out east, I can't remember doh
