It seems never ending lol:)

Yeah no kidding, and after that it will be the kids Lightning....but I will be doing more of a supervisory thing on that one.

I got swirl's. I've had them since I got the car. Went to the dealership that I bought it at a couple months later and told them I wanted it fixxed (this was 3 years or so ago) and of course the "warrenty" guy was om holidays.
So me and a couple of the salesman walked around the lot and EVERY car on the lot had swirls. So they said well it must be something that ford does out of the factory? Well me being a stang rookie I took there word for it. Obviously its something they were doing.
O well, that being said there's some CMOC stickers and beer in it for anyone who wants to come and supervise me while I get to work on it. I'm pretty terrified to try it myself!

Don't be scared at all, I did it on my '12 and honestly with a little common sense and a lot of patience, you'll be fine. I used Ultimate Compound and a cheap buffer from Princess Auto, and it was a lot of work, as I took my time and had to do several passes on each panel, as I was worried about going too deep, but nothing to worry about, I was way to careful and probably could have cut the time in half being a little more aggressive, but I wasn't a pro so erred on the side of caution. I'm sure a more expensive set up like Toxix uses would be even better, and less time consuming. Either way it's awesome when you get them all out. A real feeling of accomplishment! :D

LOL!!! Swirls are not a defect.... swirls are from INEXPERIENCED WASHERS! (the low paid people at dealershits that wash cars with foam brushes, or just people owning them, and not knowing how to properly take care of paint.....) I will be VERY surprised if they cover that as warranty.... take it to a GOOD detail shop, who does high end cars.

Yeah swirl marks piss me off really. They are 100% avoidable, but the majority of car owners could care less about them. Every vehicle I own gets the same treatment....clay bar, ultimate compound(until every little swirl is gone), high gloss polish, and quality wax. It can be very time consuming, depending on your expectation of end quality, but I checked with some detail shops, and on a vehicle with real bad swirl marks you're looking at over $1200. to get them all out. That's why I do it myself, and I'm not using any high quality tools here, I bought my last polisher at Princess Auto for 40 bucks, and it does the job! I'm sure a more expensive set up could cut my work time in half, but that really doesn't bother me much. I would say do it yourself, and gain the satisfaction of knowing you did it.:tup
