New & Looking for Info

Hi, new to this site and am looking to add some extras to my Vista blue '06 GT coupe. The car is completely stock now and I am considering adding white lemans stripes, a hood scoop, side window louvers and a triple chrome fuel filler door.

I live in the Vancouver area and would appreciate any advice as to who could supply these parts and do the work for me.

Thanks for your help.

I would suggest SilverHorse Racing for the billet fuel door. Moss Mustangs for the louvers.

Welcome

Thanks, guys, for your help. I've found two quarter window louvers - one is by Ford Racing and the other is by CDC. They look identical, does anyone know if they are the same thing? I also found a Roush hood scoop at Steeda.ca that I like - any opinions on that one, too?

You can't go wrong ordering from Steeda.ca. Another very popular place to order parts and accessories from is Americanmuscle.com. Also more locally, themustangshop.ca in Calgary is a great store as well.

I've used a number of suppliers; steeda.ca, American Muscle, Lethal Performance, CJ Pony. My side window louvers came from DGCustom. They're in California. The price they gave me was the price I paid, no extras. I think I had it shipped ground (can't remember for sure), but definitely not UPS. http://www.dgcustomauto.com/

Welcome to the site and enjoy the modifications....I sure am!!!

No banning here.

it's just a joke Ray....

Steeda.ca is the no. 1 distributor of parts for American Muscle. American Muscle might be 10 or 15 bucks cheaper than Steeda.ca - but factor in shipping and duty and your ahead going with Steeda.

By far the best looking 1/4 window louvers...

Installation is a little more involved, but next to these, everything else looks like a tacky stick-on. (no offence intended, but I've seen them in person, and nothing else compares)

Sorry about the delay but welcome and watch out or the mods will put you in the poor house lol

B52 08-08-2011 07:37 PM

Thanks again guys for all the help. I ordered the parts today from Calgary and found a hot rod restoration place locally that will paint and install them for me. I'll post some photos when it's finished.

SNAKEBITE 08-09-2011 08:45 AM

good stuff and thanks

thunderbolt 08-09-2011 07:34 PM

I'll vote for American Muscle..great selection; great service (ie 2 days ship) and no hidden costs...

Mustang Shop would be my #2 choice

Steeda got great stuff, But I found more pricey

Welcome, and look forward to seeing some pics. The mods you mentioned sound great, except the chrome fuel door.......I'm not a fan, but many are, as I see them all the time. Anyway, you came to the right place, there are a lot of helpful men/women on the site!

SNAKEBITE 08-10-2011 08:35 AM

I think chrome/aluminum looks best on a dark car

B52 08-10-2011 11:45 PM

You're right DublDee, without the help from the men/women on this site I never would have found the stuff I was looking for so easily. I wasn't a fan of the older aluminun fuel doors either but the new chrome ones with the GT logo from Silver Horse Racing are really nice - it should look great against the vista blue paint and my chrome wheels.

DublDee 08-10-2011 11:53 PM

I'm sure it will look just fine, and as long as your happy with it, thats all that matters.:tup

I like the look of either chrome or aluminum fuel door
I've been toying with changing out for the SHR chrome one

B52 08-11-2011 11:45 PM

How do you like the Roush hood scoop thunderbolt (fit/finish/installation) - that's what I ordered?
