New wax by Meguires

Sold the crap Zymol to a buddy-holy white residue and this morning I spent $33 on a new Meguires product. It's called Meguire's nxt generation Tech wax. I will report the results on Sunday. I have waxed my cars well over 600 times and this is by far the most I have ever spent. The Classic Gold is $20. I am hoping the extra $10 is worth it. I prefer Meguires's and have always been happy with the Classic results  We will see if the new wax is beneficial or not.

I have used the NXT on my car several times now, I do not think you will be disappointed!

Cheers

I used it for the first time 2weeks ago. I went for the paste rather than liquid.
The order I applied it.
No machine used... All by hand
1. Wash(Dawn dish detergent) to strip as much old crap as possible.
2. Clay (Mequiars)
3. Paint cleaner ( Mequiars Crystal step 1)
4. NXT (whole car, let dry)
5. Micro fiber, rub entire car to remove dried wax.
Next day
5. Wash (Mequiars car wash)
6. Dry with Micro fiber

Shines great, better than either gold class or the medallion pro stuff.
Took out most swirl marks but not all. There are a couple of stains(bird ship probably) in the paint that need tending to with a buffer.

IMO always wash NXT with the Mequiars car wash, its designed to keep their products shining.

Thanks guys. I will use for the first time Sun am :tup The car will be 2 1/2 weeks old and this will be the 8th coat of polish/wax :banghead:

NXT is a synthetic sealant. It will be brighter and more reflective than Meguiars #26 but not as deep and wet. For the best look apply a Carnauba such as Meguiars Gold Class ON TOP of the NXT. The brightness of the sealant will shine through the deep wet carnauba giving the best of both worlds.

The Zymol you bought was not the real Zymol. There are two companies making Zymol, Turtle wax is one and the product you bought. The other "Real" Zymol is made somewhere else and is much more expensive. Some Zymol waxes sell for $10,000+, Only a retard would spend that. IMO even the most expensive Zymol sucks compared to many $50 waxes available.

I have some Classic Gold left. Thanks for the tip

I received a tip that I can purchase Zaino in Windsor. Can I use the new Meguire's and then the Zaino? How would it look when finished.

NXGHOST 04-30-2005 06:10 AM

Both NXT and Zaino are sealants. I wouldn't recommend it. Use one or the other.

Which one should I use? :tup :banghead:

Word of warning when you're thinking about overlapping different synthetics without properly stripping the existing synthetic.

Sometimes the two synthetics won't be compatible, and it could cause a chemical reaction and make your paint look all hazy.

Trust me on this...happened to me last year. Took me like 40+ hours to get all the sealant off...it was a total PITA...had to use a body shop chemical (DuPont Prepsol).

I thought I was going to spontaneously combust. I spent a weekend applying a multi-stage synthetic....nearly 2 straight weeks (every evening) stripping the crap off...and another weekend re-applying a new multi-stage synthetic.

My advise with synthetics would be this...do your research...pic your combo of choice and be prepared to stick with that combo for a long time.

Just my 2 cents.
