NXGHOST 05-21-2006 10:07 PM

Sand and polish it. But.... If you had to ask the question I don't recommend you try it on your own!

99GTRag 05-22-2006 09:24 AM

Take it back to the dealer and let them detail/handle it........Shouldn't be your problem to correct.....

SNAKEBITE 05-22-2006 11:42 AM

It's a fluke, Honda NEVER has any problems. It must have found its way onto the Ford production line. :poke:

My V6 had pearl and the paint was perfect, until my retarded neighbour hit the car.

Bubba_Lane 05-22-2006 08:48 PM

We have a friend that over the last 3 years has bought two cars from Lexus. They both have orange peel straight from the factory. We told them to ask the dealer about it and they claim it's normal.

Most of the new cars I've seen these days have orange peel. Perhaps it's become acceptable?

These are top of the line SUV's and car's from Lexus I'm referring to.

Bubba_Lane 05-22-2006 09:56 PM

lx 470, ya its because the painting is done more so by robots now and in a hurry, so there isnt time to wetsand and such im assuming.

White97 05-22-2006 11:00 PM

Aren't you trying to save money...? :teeth:

Bubba_Lane 05-23-2006 02:47 PM

yup and i have saved a bunch, this is just extra stuff from the halifax trip. :5:

""you may be wondering why i switched from a stang to a civic, its simple.....MONEY SAVINGS!"

once again, i have saved alotta money by getting rid of the stang, mainly is insurance, gas and monthly, all the above saved huge, that stuff shall be purchased by some extra money i made from my excursion to halifax. and the honda boys suck, just becaue i sold my stang doesnt mean i hate em, i still love em, i just cant afford it right now and i am not willing to pinch every molecule of penny to drive one. but thats just how i feel.

White_Snake 05-23-2006 08:45 PM

its ok "honday boy" we understand that you have a small wiener and no longer need the big mucsle car to make chicks think you are "special" :run:

just kidding man. i have a small one too.. :thumb1:

VIRGIN!!!!! :cop:

sean0101 08-16-2006 11:40 AM

When it comes to your orange peel on your car best way to get rid of that is a light wetsand and 3 stage polish. I work in a body shop that's how we usually fix that problem. Don't try this unless you know what you are doing, and if you take it back to your dealership make sure that if they take it to the detailor that he knows what he is doing because dealerships usually give those problems to their detailors because it's cheaper to polish it the bodyshop time.

Bubba: We all are going through the gas and insurance thing, but why didn't you go for a older mustang like a fox or a jelly bean like mine instead of a honda, im not making fun of anyone just wondering why you didnt go older?

Bubba_Lane 08-16-2006 10:08 PM

because, gas payments and the fact that it was a lemon, not to say that all are but alot of mustangs have been touched.....and i want a complete virgin stock stang. im gonna wait for a while until i get another one, when i can afford the fixings and such.

First off, it's a lease and they will not fix it.(paint) You talk about saving money, yet you lease.(pissing money down the drain) Turd....oh sorry, third, why ITF, would you upgrade a lease? (more piss down the drain) The only benefit to leasing is if you can write it off. (having a business) Ya, I know, payments are smaller, but it's like renting a house. No equity, ever.....NADA! If your a messy ,careless driver you will pay for that in the end.
Mike.

Define LEMON???? what happened?

bombdigitty 09-05-2006 10:52 AM

Even if your not expecting the dealer to do anything about the quality of the paint, you should atleast show them so they can note it. The last thing you want, is in 3 years or whatever and your lease is up for them to try and tell you that you had a the car repainted. They might thing that the orange peel is the result of a touch up or body repair.
