Paint and Infra red Tube Heater in Garage

Does anyone know if an infra red tube heater will damage paint. Parked my Mustang in garage and covered. My bike has been parked in garage for years but the car is a lot closer. Thanks

Guess it might depend on how close the car is to the heater ? With any heater, I'd worry more about the cover melting or catching on fire before I'd worry about the paint.

Thanks. I wondered about the same. Parked back out in the driveway.

Why not just move the heater?

I’ve always wondered about that as well. When we built our house I would have loved radiant heat but used a forced air unit to be safe. I really feel it could hurt the paint over time. I found a few discussions on the topic

The solution I came up with is to put the cover on and place 2 windshield reflectors and the hood and fender is cool to the touch.

That should do the trick
