Re-painting the car? Or touch up
 

Hey guys, I've been keeping up as best I can detailing and diligently caring and keeping the body and interior well kept and as close to pristine as I can when I have time. Problem that I am having is some of my paint is oxidized and other parts have lots of light scratches and some paint is just gone and I'm seeing to the metal :( and in some very slow growing like spots its flaking away, and almost looks like wax residue but it isnt. I know that I need to repaint for when I install the Cobra body kit so everything is colour matched. But since I have waxed with both liquid and paste wax as directed to take out harder scratches and the little lighter ones, they do not seem to have even been reduced. The only time I got away was buffing deep scratches through the clear coat to the surface and that is still holding up ish. I'm nervous about whether or not I can save the paint only because of wanting to say its still the original paintwork and I dont want to be a moron and spend money unnecessarily just to cure my probably misguided worries.
To rephrase and sum with another point: Flawless result can it be done without having to repaint the full car? Or is it wiser to go repaint? I apologize if my concerns aren't very clear but if anyone can help me out I would seriously appreciate this. After all wash and wax and weekly details keep a healthy appearance for sure.

There's only so much you can do before it's time to call it a day. What's the advantage of keeping the original paint if it looks like crap, and all you're doing is worrying about it ? Does having original paint mean it's worth more ? Painting the whole car is the way to go, old paint is hard to match up if you're just doing a panel here or a panel there. I don't think wax does much for deeper scratches, you gotta buff them out first. New paint will give you a clean slate with zero scratches, so your time spent detailing and diligently caring and keeping the body and interior well kept and as close to pristine is less.

I've been having the same problems. Though I have this one gash when some lady opened her door while I was going into a parking spot next to her and she scratched like an inch off of my pass seat paint. Is it possible to just sand it down and repaint it myself or do I really have to go for a full body paint job?

Anythings possible, sure you can sand it down and paint it, why would you have to go for a full body paint job? Two thoughts there, first off, no idea how bad the scratch is, one inch scratch doesn't sound too bad, don't how picky you are about how it looks when it's done. Second thought was why would you need a full paint job if it was an inch scratch on the door ? Paint the door at worst, with a 2013, the paint should match pretty good. Me personally, I wouldn't be sanding and spray bombing the scratch if I owned a 2013. Gashed by a gash, jeez, some people are retarded when it comes other peoples property, sorry to hear it.

Try this stuff. It works awesome for chips but I haven't had a scratch to try it on though. They can match your paint as well.
