Security system

i am going to get a Security system installed and i was just wondering what your guys thought are?

ChadStang 12-23-2012 05:52 AM

They have their good and bad but in my opinion any security is a good idea. Theives will normally pick the easiest target. That being said it doesn't matter how much security you have, if they really want it they will find a way to take it.

I agree with ChadStang, anybody wants something bad enough, they'll just smash and grab. How many times have you been in a mall parking lot and heard an alarm going off and thought....I better call the cops or go check it out ? Nope, your first thought is turn that friggin' thing off, you're bugging the heck out of everyone. Alarms are like locks on your house, they only keep the honest people out, makes no diff to d-bag lowlifes. lol

If you're going to get one I'd get a 2-way alarm. That's the type when the alarm on the car goes off it will also signal your remote. Get one with the longest range possible.

At the end of the day however it's a piece of mind thing. As already stated if someone really want it they'll get it but it will help keep away the kids.

Smith & Wesson baby, best security you can get, pop a cap in their ass.

Locked garage, with a very hungry pitbull inside usually works well. :D

Alarm system

I had a viper alarm installed in my 1999 stang. Cost a little under 300 dollars. The thing about it is that the flashing blue light at the top of the windshield will at least deture some would be theives. You just have to nudge the vehicle and the alarm will go off, and I can detect it up to a mile away. So think its better than nothing.

Took the alarm off when I took the stereo out but planning on installing a new one just for the convenience of remote lock/unlock.
