Anyone know where the mic is? Hubby says he can hardly hear me when I'm using Sync. Not sure if the system uses the mic on the phone or if there's a separate one in the car.

This might sound retarded, but I think for best acoustics, the rear view mirror would be a good place to start looking for a mic.

Good guess roddy. It seems to be on the top of the rear view mirror. I've checked out a few websites, including syncmyride, and other Ford owners have the same issue....which confirms that its not my exhaust being too loud .

This is the solution according to syncmyride...
SYNC hears you through a microphone embedded in your rearview mirror. SYNC uses voice recognition technology to understand your requests.

Volume is controlled through your radio’s controls. Your speaking volume can be controlled through your mobile phone and the phone of the person you are calling.

So I guess I turn up the volume on my phone, which is already at its highest level. Although I did see an unhappy F250 owner say he has to turn up his phone volume each time he uses Sync because it defaults back to low.

Dammit!! Let me live in that oblivious world - where I believe that he really wants to listen to what I have to say. LOL!

We all really want to listen to what our wives are saying, but it's like an involuntary reaction.....she says shopping, I think BEER!.....She says shoes, I think new tires.....Really it's not our fault.
