What do you guys use to clean them up and make them nice and black. I was thinking tire dressing and a brush? An aerosol spray of some kind would be nice or maybe even that foamy spray on tire shine. The front wheel wells are kind of like a fabric/carpet material.

 

After washing them with a sprayer I have been using a tire dressing in a spray bottle and then wiping the wheel well down with a rag to get rid of the excess (I do remove the wheels to do this), then I follow up with a little Mothers Showtime and wipe again. Seems to last for a couple months driving only on sunny dry days.

 

^^^good reply. I would go the extra mile though and remove the rims/tires, reason being is you can dress the inside of the tire and polish/wax the inner rim.

 

I use the foam tire shine as well. I just spray some on a towel and wipe the fender liner till she's clean. I do agree that removal of wheel is a big help.

 

I use tire shine or detailing spray on a rag. Not driving a car in the winter/rain makes it pretty easy to just give it a quick swipe and its clean. Heck I wash the car and its still looks like there is tire shine on the tires without even having to re-apply the tires are still so black and new.

Good tips guys! Gotta question, The previous owner of my Shelby decided to undercoat with Krown rust control, it's everywhere even the wheel wells
How can I get rid of this stuff it seems to return after a short ride...

 

The only way I can think of removing it would be high pressure water or possibly steam.

 

Yup what a Mess, I don't know why anyone would coat a car that spent it's life in a Garage, now that it's being driven the Krown rust control is seeping everywhere I'm gonna pay off my pal and use his lift, he works at a GM dealership.. seems fitting to leave the greasy crap there
