The Cobra-Jet is Back

http://www.dragzine.com/news/2013-co...now-available/

I love the cobra-jets I had a 69 Mach 1 428 C-J-shaker but with a C-6 Auto. That was great with 375 HP stock back in the day.

That's actual Cobra Jet drag cars, which are just insanely fast. I think you'll be able to buy the engine itself too. And its got a whole lot more than the "375hp" Ford very conservatively rated the 428 at.

I think Ford might be telling a bit of a white lie here with those horsepower ratings.

The naturally aspirated engine will have an MSRP of $17,495, while the supercharged version of the engine will set you back $24,995
I read elsewhere that they are based off the GT500's Aluminum 5.4L and that is a 550hp engine, so in theory the 430hp n/a motor seems legit. But the supercharged engine seems a bit sandbagged at 475hp.
