Shout out to Atlantic Canada

I would like to arrange an extra track day (or hopefully a weekend) at AMP, Shubenacadie, NS but it will only be feasible with enough interest. I hope to keep the cost at $200 or under (depending on how many people are interested) which includes a full day of lapping for people with lapping or solo licenses and some timing sessions at the end for people with solo licenses (with rewards for different achievements!). Most summer weekends are booked so it will most likely be in September.

If you're interested please PM me your address or email and I'll send an application once I have the final date(s) and the track booked. For those who are not familiar with the track, here's a link to the track's map on its website:

That sounds like a blast.
There are a few local guys who do lap at AMP.
I will not likely take out the Shelby. May be the Turbo Coupe.
Keep me posted, I would definitley help out.

great, thanks! including you, there are 3 people interested so far (4 including myself).

I'm not sure yet if I will have timing sessions because there are very few people that have solo licenses (as opposed to just lapping) so it may not be worth it for the extra insurance. if there's enough interest in timing sessions, the plan is to have cash awards for the top 3 fastest times of the day (or the weekend, if we get a whole weekend going)

1st prize will be equal to the cost of the event, whether it's under or over $200 (i.e. the event will end up costing nothing to you).
2nd prize will be half the cost of the event.
3rd prize will be 1/3 the cost of the event.

If I was closer I'd be all over this, bit of a drive there though.

lol yea, that would be quite a drive. I do think many would be interested in the idea. it's just a matter of finding those who are. if you know anyone in Nova Scotia or close that would be interested, please let them know. with enough interest, this can be an annual event.

Sounds great, though I'm not around 7th - 19th Sept. Also, stupid question from someone who has never but would like too, how do I get a lapping / solo license?

once I have enough people committed (20+ but could less if those committed agree on the cost being a little over $200), I will send the days the track is available for rent at the time and make sure to pick a date when the majority, if not all, can easily come.

that's not a stupid question, I'm sure everyone had to ask the same question (I know I did). you need to attend one of the high performance driving schools arranged by ASCC (Atlantic Sports Car Club). There is one on May 19 this year.

Actually there is only one HSDS (High Speed Driving School) in May which will get you a Solosprint/Time attack and Lapping license. There are other schools offered usually in conjunction with Lapping Days that will get you a Lapping License only. If you follow the ARMS Forums ( ATLANTIC REGION MOTOR SPORTS • Index page ) there will be posts in the coming months confirming the lapping days/schools.
