Modded Passenger Seat Height

A friend of mine did this to his Mustang and it worked out well. I decided to do it as well.
My wife didn’t like how low she sat in the passenger seat. So I raised it up by 1 ¾”.
After a little modding this is what it looks like.

Pictures 4 and 7 are my friend’s mod. The rest are mine.

This is what you will need to do this mod:

4) Square tubing 1 ¾” X 1 ¾” X 1 ¾” Long.
You can use whatever size of tubing you like for more or less height.
4) 3/8 16 X ½” Bolts or ¾” if you can’t find ½” I used the ¾”
4) 3/8 16 Nuts or locking nuts.
4) 3/8 Flat Washers.

Drill 3/8” hole in center of the top and bottom of the tubing. The base factory bolts may be a bit bigger, so you may have to drill the bottom hole a little bit bigger.
Take the seat out of the car. Remove the base from the seat. Bolt spacers to base. Using the new 3/8 16 bolts, bolt seat back on base. Reinstall seat.

I would have just said sit on a phone book, it's a lot less work. lol Nice job, great pics, love the circles and arrows, shows you exactly what you're looking at and how it's done, very clean and professional looking mod. By the look of the floor mats, it's difficult to tell anyones even sat in the passenger seat.

Wow great write up. Hey AP, I have a feeling it won't be long and we won't have phone books to sit on. I'm surprised they still send them out actually.

The reason it looks so clean is because I make my wife remove all of her clothes and shoes before she gets into the car.

And all this time you thought people were looking at the car when you put the top down

So, stands to reason that's your wife's Busch in the background of some of the pics right ?

That's not my wife Busch, that's the neighbours. My wife doesn't like the Busch!

I can respect any woman that likes Busch and Schlitz, but not many go that way. Did you have much trouble explaining to the wife how your neighbours Busch ended up in your pics?

OK, that derailed quickly enough, last bad pun I promise. Maybe.

I have a very understanding wife. She doesn't mind the neighbours Busch in the garage, as long as I don't take her Schlitz to the neighbours.
