Automatic transmission hesitation to downshift

I have a 2010 Mustang GT with an automatic transmission. Over the past year, it now hesitates when I drop the throttle. I nail the pedal and it does nothing for about 3 seconds, then Slam, the rpms fly across the gauge and then the car launches as I intended.

Is anyone aware if there was a Technical Service Bulletin on this? Maybe a software update was issued at some point?

Definitely not right.

A tranny reflash isn't a bad starting point.

A little split second hesitation is ok but what you're describing is a very hard gear change.

If it does nothing at all it doesn't sound like a transmission issue. Maybe a throttle body issue or something along those lines but I would take it to a shop.

Thanks guys. The throttle body theory is one I hadn't considered. I will look into having the tranny programming re-flashed. It all comes down to $$ of course.

Automatic downshift in sport mode

I have a 2013 mustang GT with the 6 speed automatic. When I am in sport mode and shifting manually, if I come to a stop without downshifting manually, should the transmission reset itself to first gear on its own in this mode when the car is stopped? I have other vehicles that do, but my Mustang does not. Is there possibly something wrong?

as far as I know that is normal. They wanted to be sure that the driver had full control and could pick the gear they wanted to be in.
