2015 Mustang Easter Egg
Hey everyone. I just found out something about the 2015 Models (Well at least the GT anyway). I don't know if too many people are aware of it or not but there is a Mustang Insignia/Logo under the hood beneath the insulating mat. A friend of mine with a '15 took his insulation off a couple of days ago while doing some work and made the discovery. He knows someone with a '16 and a '17 and they don't have it. I was searching for other references for this and the only thing I could find was a post on reddit where a guy mentioned that a Mustang forms on the hood when frost begins melting from idling. Any way my buddy shows his car and has since trimmed the insulation to expose it and he'll be taking the liner to a seamstress to have piping sewn around the oval. Also he's going to paint it black to match what he's got going on with his car. Anyway check it out!!
I think it probably had something to do with the 50th anniversary and making the car more special than the rest. Who knows, I'm wondering now if there aren't similar things hidden elsewhere on the car.
I read about it when they released the 2015, and was described as a feature when the frost was melted away on the hood. I will have to check it the 2016 convertible in my garage has that feature. I will post later after I check.
But it would be upside down if that was the case.
