Spring parts

Hey all I noticed a post about the site starting to die off so I’m gonna post a lot of stupid questions looking for your thoughts and insights on some stuff I’m new to mustangs but not new to modding cars.

so I found this site Americanmuscle.com is there any other sites you guys use to order parts ? Here’s what I have in my cart not sure what gains I may get.

70mm throttle body
Upper intake plenum
optima yellow top battery
underdrive pulleys
SR performance cold air intake
and for looks looking at the Raxiom ICON LED sequential tail lights

what’s your thoughts on these or experiences with them

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying that there are no stupid questions...... but I’ve heard a few stupid ones in my day lol. That being said fire away, whatever you need to know someone here should be able to help you out.

There are a few similar websites out there such as CJ Pony Parts https://www.cjponyparts.com/ and Latemodel Restroation https://lmr.com/

It’s also worth checking with some of the Canadian suppliers. I’ve dealt lots with Western Motorsports in Calgary https://www.wmsracing.com/ and they’ve always been great. They deal with Latemodel so you can get all of the SVE stuff from them. The big thing with ordering from the U.S is that you can get dinged with extra fees when you go to get your items (Apocalypse Pony definitely has a story for you)

As far as your mod list it looks pretty solid but for many of those items I’d watch Kijiji as you might find some deals on some used items. Definitely don’t order the battery from the U.S as the shipping will be expensive and personally I don’t really see the benefit in an Optima battery, I’m pretty happy with Motorcraft.

If I can make a suggestion I’d start with exhaust. A good sounding cat back would be the first thing I’d put on the car followed by an x or h pipe and/or headers.

Awesome thank you for the reply. I will check out that Canadian supplier as I would rather shop at home first! I will watch Kijiji for some of them but I’m pretty impatient lol want my toys and want them now lol. Currently watching kijiji for a convertible for the wife I personally hate them but she loves them I think a set of pony’s in the garage is better than one.

DaSilva Racing

these guys are closer to you which would save you some shipping but I’ve never dealt with them personally

An auto wrecker would be your best bet on that I’d think.

Theres Steeda in Milton , but i've never dealt with them personally, but had a buddy that did not have a positive experience, but I'm sure that can be said for any business.

I've dealt with CJ's and LMR, both pretty good, but typical of US retailers, theres another US company with some good stuff, JLT https://www.jlttruecoldair.com/ZenCart/.

Granatelli Motorsports is a site sponsor, but I'd suggest avoiding them, they don't bother doing customs paperwork, so you'll end up paying UPS an additional 25% on top of whatever you order. ( Sorry, I'm still pissed about that)

Same thing happened to me when I bought my decklid panel from CJPP. It cost me just about $60 when I picked it up at the post office. I don’t think I’ll deal with them again.

Thats a good heads up, the companies that give you up front pricing are the best. I think AM, LMR and JLT are among them.

I go where I can save money, and as funny as it is, it’s usually U.S. Even with shipping costs, and conversion, it still always comes out way cheaper. Across the border. I’m a AM, and LMR guy.
In Canada I’ve also dealt with WMS, Steeda.ca, and The Mustang Shop out west. Then there is a local performance shop aswell here in London called Performanxe Unlimted. Another here in Ontario is 2Kool Perfomance, and Miseners.
