v6 to v8 P.I. Swap

Car started out as a 98 v6 with a 5 speed. We used a wrecked 98 GT auto vert for the drivetrain. The heads are '99 heads, 03 intake, 04 TB and plenum. NGK plugs and Castrol full synthetic. Stock headers for now, gutted stock h-pipe, '00 gt catback. Still have the v6 rearend for now. Suspension is cut stock springs up front, H&R race springs in the rear, AGX's all around. The swap took a total of 26 hours.

Looking good, what are your future plans for the car?

I'm currently debating on whether or not to swap a 351 windsor bored to a 396 into my car.

Is it running now? What wiring did you have to change?

The car is running now and runs great. I used all the underhood wiring from the GT and the GT computer then took it to Ford so they could get the PATS system working. It still has the 7.5 rear in the car with the stock 2:73 gears. So with the auto, it doesnt come out of 1st gear until 60 mph LOL. It will soon get an 8.8 with 3:55's, TB, plenum, and CAI. Throttle response is amazing. The CR is supposed to be ablout 10.5:1.

So nothing in the dash needed to be changed? Interesting.... leads to some possibilities.

dash is exactly the same, k-member on 96-98 is the same, v6 manual and gt auto crossmember are the same. you have to use the GT throttle cable tho, as well as the Gt hydraboost brake system. v6 rack works. If anyone has any specific Q's, just ask me. I can save you lots of time and headaches LOL
