the way the PATS system works is fairly simply in concept. you have four main componants: the key, ignition, gauge cluster, and engine ECU. all four parts have a certain code, you require all three to match up in order to start your vehicle. basically you cannot simply replace a cluster or ECU because the codes will not match. you must go to your Ford dealership to get it all reprogrammed. (or shut off)
in your case it may simply be as easy as trying to bypass it. i'm not totally sure what engine the B2200 uses?if it is in fact the 3.8L you mey get away with just swapping the engine as long as your current ECU can run it. if not, you may need to do some finness work, such as custom cluster, stand alone ECU (or bypass PATS in 3.8 ECU) and also concider the ammount of wiring you will need to do.
on another note, again i'm not too sure what setup the B2200 uses, but you should take to account that Ford used two different types of fuel systems in the mustang 3.8L the 94-98 were a return style and the 99-04 were a non return. just a thought. and good luck! :tup
