5 spd swap

If I own a 94 V6 Auto, what would a 5 spd swap entail, rough costs, etc. Any help would be great as I wouldn't know how to do it. Thats a little out of my scope.

well all I know is that you need:
  1. to cut a hole for the pedel
  2. u need the master clutch cylinder
  3. u need the tranny
  4. and well I guarentee a weekend
  5. and some help
I'm not sure of prices cuz Im a new comer and all I know is that it involves more then most people think. It's probably easiest to have a friend how knows a bit about it to help :4:

I have done this conversion on my 02. I did not have to drill any holes. The clutch is cable attivated and does not have a slave cylinder. The hardest part was the pedal install and the removal of the automatic.

o thanks for the info i Never really looked at how the clutch worked so I figured it worked with a slave cylinder and stuff so then it's easier than I thought :thumb1:

the automatics already ahve a hole int he firewall for the clutch cable to go through, it has a rubber groumet on it if you have an auto, so remove the groumet and feed the clutch cable though it. Yeah the swap is not too hard, you will need to get the EEC reprogrammed though as it will want to shift thinking it still has the auto, thast the good thing about going from auto to 5 speed, you can use the EEC from the auto car and turn off the electronic shifting, where as if you were to go from 5-sopeed to auto you would need an auto EEC as you can't turn the auto shifting on in a computer that didn't have it :D

How much roughly to get the EEC programmed? Other than that I need the tranny, and clutch cable/pedal and some time and its good?

You will need a Diablo or SCT tuner and a programmer to do it. (to write the reguired changes such as removing the neutral rev limiter etc) I had the tuner as I have installed a ProCharger and new rear gears etc. In your case it might be easier and cheaper to get a an ECU from a 5-speed car.
