Fuel Cap Light. 2001 V-6
 

Has anyone had their "Check Fuel Cap" light turn on? I was just wondering, because I got a Check engine light the other day, and it turned out to be the fuel cap. Just wondering if the fuel cap light is an option, only applicable to GTs, or just for looks.

that's interesting.. was it just on wrong or something? never heard of that

I checked the cap, and the o-ring was cracked, so I replaced it. I thought it would have put the gas cap light on, though.

Update. It wasn't the fuel cap at all. I got the car scanned, and the code was PO401. EGR system insufficient flow. Turned out to be the solenoid controlling the egr valve. Easy, 2 minute fix. Only 50 bucks too. No more light.
