won't start

Hi I'm new here and I think this site is great!! I'm 15 years old and my mom just bought me my first car. 1987 Mustang LX hatchback 4 cyl. SWEET!! I'm having a problem with it though. It was running fine and then it just quit. We have replaced the plugs, wires, sylonoid, module, cap, rotor alternator, and battery. It's getting spark and gas but it still won't start :banghead:. It turns over but just won't catch. Any ideas??

Other things to consider are a new feul filter. If you have a plugged fuel filter there will not be enough gas getting to the engine. Also the air filter may have to be changed out also. Something tells me though that the most likely culprit might be the throttle body. You can get a can of cleaner to eliminate any gunk in the throttle body from Canadian Tire. Don't buy the Canadian Tire brand though.

Does it want to back fire at all?? Had a problem years ago with my 79 2.3L Capri, that the pin holding the gear on the bottom of the distributer broke, mis timing the ignition,, and also could be timing belt too has jumped as well, these are clearance motors, and not hard to change..
