I've been thinking about it. Long trip though! I'll see in the summer if I have time to go.

Vancouver 35 IMM 2014

True..long drive but great at that time of year. Stay in touch and we will see if any more Rider Stangs might be interested in forming a "Green Flag" convoy to represent the "Rider Nation" in Vancouver at the 50th Anniversary..

Dave :chacha:

TonyDee 01-10-2014 09:43 AM

Even longer drive from Winnipeg

BBYE 01-10-2014 11:26 AM

Tony are you planning to make the trip?

TonyDee 01-10-2014 01:22 PM

Think we will be going to Sturgis.

Ray Spencer 01-17-2014 09:26 PM

I am registered already....cut the check in November 2013 and have reservations at the River Rock Casino. We will leave West Kelowna in the morning of August 28th...a few members of the Okanagan Mustang Association will be going. Anyone want to hookup near West Kelowna for the trip let me know. ray.spencer74@gmail.com

BBYE 01-17-2014 09:33 PM

I am registered at the Rim Rock but wanted more info on the weekend activities but no one goes in to any detail
Hope it won't be a dud like WPG just a glorified show & shine & banquet

Ray Spencer 01-18-2014 02:37 AM

Actually as the President of the Okanagan Mustang Association I have some details as follows;

Thursday evening - Registration & Tech
Friday - Registration, Tech and welcome social
Saturday - Registration, Tech, Show at Landsdowne Shopping Mall & BBQ in evening
Sunday - Banquet and Awards Presentation
Monday -Farewell Breakfast.

Friday and Sunday during the day would appear to be the time to tour Vancouver if you have never been there before.

Visit Greater Vancouver Mustang Association home for more information. If you send me your address to my email at ray.spencer74@gmail.com I can send you out some information cards.

BBYE 01-18-2014 01:17 PM

Thanks Ray..I really wanted to know how late I can wait to register. There was some implied message that there is a limited entry. Also, I wish there was more to do at these events. Some of us hope you don't end up driving so far just for a glorified show & shine.

Ray Spencer 01-18-2014 05:01 PM

If you email Peter Bulcock - Event Co-Chair at president@gvma.org he should be able to give you the information you seek regarding registration limits. The last international (30th) I went to in Billings, Montana was quite the event besides the Show and Shine activities after market vendors where on site. The Saturday Evening Mustang Parade in Downtown Billings was also a huge event with great crowds. There was also a Sunday drag race event. I did not go to the drag race but took in the tour of the Custer Battlefield 1 hour south of Billings. There was also time to go shopping and take in various sites around Billings. We had a great time and met many Mustang owners from all over Canada and the USA.

BBYE 01-18-2014 08:29 PM

Yep that was my 1st IMM. It was a blast. Then there was Wpg…boring! I will give him a quick e mail and see what is happening.
Thanks

Ray Spencer 01-19-2014 10:24 AM

Yeah....Winnipeg is always boring.

Sorry,Carrol Shelby could not make it this time.

Ray Spencer 01-24-2014 08:40 AM

Unfortunately Carroll Shelby will not be making it to any Mustang events, but we do have his memory.

Apocalypse Pony 01-25-2014 03:33 AM

I bet if Shelby thought he could get away with it, he would have had his body frozen so they could roll him out and charge people $100 for a picture at Mustang events. Dude never missed the opportunity to make a buck by putting his name on something.

Ray Spencer 01-25-2014 09:07 AM

If you read Carroll Shelby's original bio he was a chicken farmer but had an interest in fast cars as a hobby. Eventually his hobby turned into a career and business. I would seriously have to ask myself after my racing days were over if I would like to make a buck selling my name to a product or shovel chicken poop. I think I would rather promote the race car industry and Shelby Mustangs even in death.

Apocalypse Pony 01-26-2014 06:50 AM

Someones gotta shovel the chicken poop. I'm surprised Shelby never went back to his roots and produced a high performance line of Shelby Farm Tractors and garden implements. I'd even consider buying a limited edition, numbered and signed Shelby Poop Shovel for $500. The Shelby name would have to appear at least three times on the product to make it worth it though, plus the signature. Then I could do my part to support the Shelby legacy and race car industry as I use my Shelby Poop Shovel to clean up after my dog in the backyard.

Ray Spencer 01-26-2014 10:23 AM

I take it your not a Carroll Shelby fan.

Apocalypse Pony 01-27-2014 03:30 AM

Oh hell yah, I've been looking for a Shelby Poop Shovel everywhere, but no one wants to sell theirs.

86caprirs 01-28-2014 09:38 PM

I am going to be at the Shelby/Cobra show in Vancouver on Aug 4th

BBYE 02-09-2014 09:16 PM

Hey 86..I am thinking I will be in Calgary for an overnight at some friends on the Tues the 26th..leave Am of 27th the Wed arriving Van Thursday mid day…least that is the plan so far unless something comes up to change.
I have reservations at the Rim Rock the 28th Thursday.

Apocalypse Pony 02-10-2014 03:43 AM

Is Ford Canada doing anything to help out this event? Seems like a pretty big deal.

BBYE 02-10-2014 06:30 AM

FORD CANADA have dropped the ball totally on this Big Anniversary event. I have contacted them direct, left messages with their CEO a Dianne CRAIG, and she doesn't even do us the courtesy of a reply! What a bunch .
When FORD goes under, and they will, analists will note what a rediculous attitude for such a milestone. No wonder the public stopped buying their product.

Someone should tell the US, 'cause according to Ford, they don't care either.

Ford Posts Weather-Impacted January Sales; Lincoln Up 43 Percent

DEARBORN, Mich., Feb. 3, 2014 – Ford Motor Company January sales of 154,644 total vehicles are down 7 percent from a year ago, while retail sales of 113,721 vehicles are off 5 percent. Ford Mustang and Lincoln brand vehicles posted gains in the first month of 2014.

“Given the difficult weather in our largest sales regions, we are fortunate to have held in at retail as well as we did,” said John Felice, Ford vice president, U.S. marketing, sales and service. “In areas where the weather was good, such as in the West, sales were up. The poor weather also had an impact on the timing of some of our fleet deliveries. A bright spot is Lincoln, which had its strongest sales in four years.”

Sales of Mustang totaled 3,881 vehicles in January. This represents an 8 percent increase over last year and Mustang’s best beginning-of-year performance since 2010.

Lincoln sales are up 43 percent, with 5,973 vehicles sold in January. This represents Lincoln’s best performance for the month in four years. The increase came from Lincoln MKZ, with sales of 2,122 vehicles, up 368 percent, and Lincoln MKX, with 2,479 vehicles sold, a 36 percent year-over-year gain.

Ford Motor Company fleet sales were off 14 percent in January, as winter weather hampered the ability to fill a portion of fleet orders.

86caprirs 02-10-2014 10:05 PM

BBYE, I will be heading off from Calgary on the Friday morning. Should be in Vancouver Friday late afternoon. I may head to Sechelt for the night and take the first ferry out on Saturday.

BBYE 02-11-2014 09:29 PM

DublDee 02-20-2014 02:16 PM

BBYE 02-20-2014 09:11 PM

Apocalypse Pony 02-21-2014 03:13 AM

Too much drive and not enough time, love to join you, maybe you could ask Dianne Craig to pay for a plane ticket so all the CMOC Mods could make your wish come true !!! Glad to see you've decided to stick around Dave, the place just wasn't the same without you.
