No problem...may take a bit to get this sorted out. Well she is real dirty due to all the dirt on the roads. I try to keep her fairly clean with a wash when weather permits. So by next season she will need a good claying and polish. Will have new mods and shoes by then as well.

Hows things with you?

Under load yes, lets say if I am climbing a incline and rpms drop it would do it, and not only WOT. It happens all the time. I would have richen'd it up, but it only allows that at WOT.

Yes car is stock...not even a bolt on. (sad isnt it)

From what I gather from my readings some of the earlier SCT products had this effect from there preloaded tunes. You may want to purchase some new tunes and while your at it a CAI from AM and give those a try to eliminate the canned tunes from SCT within the tuner.

I am still looking into a viable solution for you. Will be talking to a mustang tuning guru here in Calgary to see if he might have some input.

Cheers

Okay thanks for your help. So far not too pleased with SCT.. advertise something, and I feel I did not receive it. I know the canned tunes are just a small amount of what this tuner does but would have been nice for them to have worked =(

Have you ever changed the fuel filter? It sounds like you are running lean. A clogged fuel filter will make you run lean. If you have not done that it might be time to. Then fill the car with 87 and tune it for 87 and see if that stops the knock. If the knock does not stop after replacing the fuel filter on the 87 tune then go out and buy some octane booster. I want to know if the fuel around your area is pore. Before filling the tank add the booster so it mixes with the petrol.

I always use Shell with my AM/Bama 87 performance in winter, 91 street and 91 race tunes at the track.

Cheers

Yes its a fresh fuel filter, I was going to try cleaning the maf.. I don't know.. I can't think of anything else.. I've even thought of putting an oil seperator on the pcv system because apparently that can lower the octane...?
Currently I am running 87 on the 87 tune.. I know I did put 94 in and had knock with 93, and 91 and 87 on a hot day... now that its cold it probably won't do it

Cleaning the MAF is a good idea if you have not done this already or ever. I clean mine on a regular basis such as after an oil change. Remember to use a MAF cleaner only.

Is it currently knocking right now with 87 and 87 tune? Are you only experiencing this knock on hot days? If so I would suggest lowering the fan temp on settings and changing the thermostat to a summer. This will help to keep the engine temps cooler as the fans come on earlier and the thermostat opens sooner.

Another question for you. What type of oil do you run? (Full Syn, Semi-syn, conventional) I run Mobil 1 5W20 in my ride. This will also help to keep engine temps down as there is less friction creating heat.

Cheers
