First Oil Change

Bought My Mustang (2004 GT) in July
Doing my first oil change today...
Anything odd I should know
Is the stick accurate when adding the new oil etc?
How far should I keep it below full?
I was going to go full synthetic but season is coming to an end so I justbought the conventional oil until the spring when I plan to go with Mobil 1 Synthetic
Anyway, if there is anything I should know or any tips post them!
Thanks

don't freak out, he's owned the car since july and hopefully hasn't gone over 5000 since july, not since 2004

even if it was an 04 and just had 5000 now, it probably would have been better to do at least one oil change before storage a year

Actually put 11,000 on since July
They changed it at the dealership the day I bought it
And I just changed it the other day
I was mostly wondering about some people say the sticks measurement isnt very accurate...
So I added 5.5 liters...calls for 5.7...check it tomorrow as I was for a tour today

its good to run conventional oil for the first couple oil changes, help break-in the motor. Then switch to synthetic. I recommend using Ford motorcraft oil filters though. They are a couple bucks more than any other filter like fram or quaker state, but WAY better quality.

I have always run Mobil 1 from new and with the new one it came with syn 5-50 so I will stay with syn when I change at approx 600-700 kms. That km range will be once per year. Yeah yeah I know drive the damn thing. No thanks:biggrin:
