Gas Mileage question

hey guys, im looking at purchasing a '02 or '04 Mustang GT and was wondering what i should expect as far as gas mileage goes. My 2003 Dodge Durango is just way too spendy at the pump, best ive ever seen on the highway is 15 mpg but in real world average (city mostly) its about 10 mpg.

I wont be modifying the car for the first year (at most a cat back and CAI) so im just curious what the real world mileage would be like. Car with have a manual transmission as well.

thanks a lot,

Dusty

I did have an '03 GT Vert for 3 years. I was getting 17 mpg City, 26 mpg hiway. It was unmodified stock. If I drove hard in city it would get closer to 14 mpg.

The question is wether you can keep your foot out of it. It should do better than the Durango though.

I had a 2002 GT convertible and it averaged about 22 mi/gal, got as good as 24 mi/gal on the highway. I did do mostly highway driving though. Mine was an automatic so you might get slightly better mileage with the manual, depends how heavy your foot is.

I get about 17mpg city and can get anywhere from 24-30mpg on the highway depending on speed. Doing 100-110 it gets near 30mpg.
