Magnapack...

Unfortunately the flowmaster video is not as good a quality as the magnapack video. I used a different camera.

I am a big fan of Flowmasters.

SNAKEBITE 07-23-2010 09:07 AM

I always loved my 40's but the Magna's are starting to grwo on me

1low03gt 07-23-2010 09:38 PM

I'm not a huge fan of exhaust like Magnaflows. It can sound alright if you have the right combo, but wiith Flowmasters, all you need to do is bolt a set in as is,and they sound great, anything else added to the equation is a bonus. But that's my opinion.:tup

herbz 07-24-2010 12:36 AM

I like the flows better. Both sound pretty good though.

SNAKEBITE 07-24-2010 12:37 AM

^^^the advantage to Magna is the lack of drone in my humble opinion. having said that the Flows sound 10/10^^^

rebel4.6 07-25-2010 12:18 PM

im askin myself the same question now.Im leaning towards the flowmasters

I've done that very thing to my highflow cats on my MAC h pipe i had,it can be done. The reason i did it was because i damaged one,got tired of hearing the rattle so to speak.I have since sold it and went back to having highflow cats but with a x pipe instead.I tell you this,it feels a little more torquier with the cats in,they help with some needed back pressure. If you have a good highflow catted mid pipe, leave it as is,it will not be worth the little gains that it may make in my opinion. If you want sound back.MAC cat back,or Flowmaster 40 series "originals" not the Deltaflow" series will get give you that sound.
My GT has the 40 series "originals" along with the Bassani catted x pipe, and she is pretty loud still.Probably just as loud or close to being as loud as when i had the gutted catted MAC h pipe.
What cat back do you have right now?

Pro SC 07-28-2010 10:31 PM

Magnaflows, with x pipe and no cats.

These are some pics and a vid of (and i know but it is a Ford and alot of the tech was used in the sn95 5.0 and 03/04 Cobra Stangs) the exhaust system i had custom built for my 1994 T Bird SC. I converted the car to a mild 5.0 with gt 40 irons, e cam and at the time a 1994 Cobra intake with a 65mm throttle body. The big hassle was using a 1991 to 93 5.0 T Bird engine harness and matting it all up to a 2000 4r70w transmission and using a 1994 pcm from a 1994 5.o auto sn95. It is all in the middle of being changed over to a very hard to find 94/95 sc 5 speed and running a very rare Roush 5.0 intake. This car is a project car amd when it gets finished, it gets finished.
As you can see in the pics, it is a very tight to get a true dual exhaust through the fuel tank before the independent 3.55 geared 8.8. The shop where i had this done, did a very good job. As you can tell i am only running JBA shorties as thats all that is available for a 5.0 t bird combo of this vintage but some guys try using two types of long tubes from a fox to work.

Now, please understand this video is not from me, it is from 5.0tailpipehiump. He did it with his phone. This was 2 years ago and the car is now blue but the drivetrain is out of it now. It will be back together with the Roush intake and the 5 speed. The sbf does sound nice with the magnaflows and an x pipe with no cats, imo.

Nice workmenship!! Looks like a million bucks, and sounds really nice too!:tup

Thanks Jay, just want everybody to know that i am not a Ford SVT Certified Tech. I am just a diehard ford guy and had that on my coveralls at the time. Like i said i had nothing to do with the editing of that video. I just have liked some other rear wheel drive cars that has come out from ford and so i thought i would build one of these on the side when i have the time. The body is rust free and has 138k on it so i thought it would be a fun project car.

Apocalypse Pony 07-30-2010 05:24 AM

Nice job dude, is that intake signed by Jack Roush himself? If he keeps crashing his planes into the ground/water, you might have a real collectors item on your hands!!:lol

SNAKEBITE 07-30-2010 07:18 AM

Great work

Ralphis 08-17-2010 02:26 PM

MAC cat-back all the way .....

james93stang 08-17-2010 04:17 PM

I like the Flowmaster sound, i have the same exhaust on mine, even with the stock h-pipe it sounds great.

SNAKEBITE 08-17-2010 06:23 PM

I think the h is the best for sound
