I will say this. I lowered my car 1 1/2 inches with an eibach sport spring. never touched my shocks / struts - left them stock. this setup lasted 6 to 8 years before the ride suffered at all - by then they would have needed replacing anyways. lower your car and worry about the struts later if your on a budget - thats what I did.

Talking

There's a budget I need to respect ... ask my wife !
But I need to replace the shocks/struts anyhow... don't think that the guy before me did anyhow.... problem is the price diff. between a stock shock/strut (oem style) and performance ones tend to be BIG ....

thanks again
Ralph

Oh i agree!!LOL,I remember my '03 GT when i picked it up new!!! My reaction was .Especially after owning a lowered 5.0L LOL!
Like i stated before, lowering is fine with the stock stuff if you are on a budget. If you plan to go lower then the 1 1/2,then replace the struts with stock foxbody struts. Then when your budget allows, you might want to up grade to aftermarket struts/shocks.But til then, the stock stuff will do without hassels.
It's easy for others to tell you to get this, and that, ects, but they are not the ones forking the money on your stang.I have always done my mods my way,on my budget,so far my way has not failed me.
There is not much thought in lowering a car like most make it out to be,but... there is a lot of thought if you plan to race in the quarter mile,or the twisties, but just for simply lowering for visuals, and the added personal touch,a set of springs, and C&C plates will work just fine.
