Anything else than supercharge or turbo???

I have a stock 2005 GT. I have been using the ZEX Nitro System with a 125 shot. My best run on the 1/8 mile is 7.91. Other than supercharging or putting a turbo is there anything else I can do to give it power. Somebody mentionned putting a 5.4 Triton engine. I can see any difference. 300hp and 360 torque instead of 320. Is there anything else that has really worked...

Heads, cams, bigger displacement, tune, different gearing, remove weight, etc....there are things you can do-but the best for a DD would be a Kenne Bell blower IMO.rockon:

Supercharger and turbo give you the best reliability with the kind've power boost you'll get from it. Heads, cam, etc can affect driveability imensely.

What is your main use for this car?

I drag race with on the weekends. 1/8 mile at 7.91 with 125 shot

Agreed, couldn't have said it any better.
If your looking for small things there is also Under drive pulleys, Aluminium drive shaft, Throttle body etc...

Hey everyone I'm new to the site. memere you ask the same question I've been asking builders for weeks now. And it does depend on how or where you intend to drive it. I've had some good discussions with sutton racing, and if your looking for n/a they are currently working on a cnc head and cam install under their BEAST packages should be out in 2 weeks. Still it is true no replacement for displacement.5.4 L swap very interesting. How bout 351 swap?

not many things other then super/turbochcharging, nitrous, or a built n/a motor. Aside from loosing a little weight, which won't help to much. Going to cost money no matter how you look at it

What's an N/A motor?

dohp 01-09-2008 06:50 PM

n/a = naturally aspirated, meaning it breathes on it's own, it's not forced induction,
i don't know what 1/8 mile would convert to in the 1/4 mile, but turbo/supercharging is the way to go if you want more power then nitrous, you are looking at engine work after that though to maximize the power and not blow it up. you could run 5-ish+ PSI probably with no problems if tuned properly, but i'll let someone with experience suggest what would be best with your setup

where abouts is the drag strip by Sherbrooke? my grandsparents live outside of Sawyerville (20 minutes south east of sherbrooke) and i've never seen a strip in the area.

It's in St-Élie D'Orford. Look up Dragst-elie.com and you'll see the directions to get there. It's an 1/8 mile stip. Lots of animation. They give your time on the radio. I've been to Sanair & Napierville and the only I like about those places is it's a 1/4mile.
