Where's my oil going?
#17
It's common on these cars. If you just start the car, then turn it off such as to move it, then next start up it will smoke. If you let it warm up and take it for a ride, next start up, it's good. I wouldn't stress about it. As far as the catch can, driver's side is where you want it.

From what I have seen boosted motors tend to vaporize a significant amount of oil. The catch can is a great solution. When I swapped my plenum over Christmas the oil inside was disgusting and very apparent that an n/a 2v can benefit from one as well. Has anyone got any ideas on a home built piece. GT is driver's side. The passenger side sucks clean air in from the air intake and it circulates through the motor and out the driver's side. The air on the driver's side also has the oil droplets that are sucked up and into the intake manifold where it fouls the intake, the charge motion plates. The seperator will filter this oil out preventing from entering the air intake. Hooking up to the passenger does not accomplish what you're trying to do.
