"if you're referring to a shop like dasilvas (because one shop is all you know and live off of on gtamc), then yes, they don't tune...mind you I'm sure they can swap in a diablo sport in RECORD holding time.....
Dasilva doesnt do alot of things.."

2tone 93gt you need to get your information straight, when was the last time you were at Dasilva Racing? You should get your information from a credible source before you flap your gums. They tune and dyno on a daily basis, and even some guys from the U.S. go there. And as far as them just doing bolt on's thats b.s. as well, most of the work they do there is bolt on's cause thats where the money is, building motors are too time consumeing. They are business people, and they do what is good for business, and if that means doing 10 blowers a week than thats what they'll do. Jealous people like you should keep your mouth shut, and if your gonna flap, make sure your information is right. I have 2 mustangs in my garage built by Dasilva and they will both give you a beeting any day of the week.

So you think that at Dasilva they just order the chip and plug it in, your wrong, they custom format the chip to what ever you have then burn it, when the cars are on the dyno they customize the chip, and they do a dyno pull, then change it, and so on, adding air, adding fuel, changing timeing ect. Do you not classify that as tuning?

I personally dont care where the tuner is. I would rather have a much better tuner 10,000 miles away emailing a file than a crappy inhouse tuner. When I got my Shelby tuned the shop put the car on the Dyno, Took all readings, emailed readings to a guy in California, Guy in California emails back a file, Make another run, change anything as nessasary. There were no local tuners of his skill. Lets take superchips. You can buy the Superchips datalogger make a dyno pull. Send the info to the best dam tuner in the world and have HIM create the tune. I dont see how a shop needs professional concentrated skills to produce professional results. I have seen Jay Smiths Mustang beat most cars on the street, his car was done at DaSilvas. If they did it themselves or contarcted the job out, either way they produced professional results. Now lets take Steeda, They also do good tuning but didn't have their own "inhouse" dyno. Still they produced professional results. They do what has to be done to produce the final product, even if if means using someone elses dyno!

There are plenty of tuners in Canada that are capable of tuning cars, be it imports or domestics....
I to believe Steeda and Dasilva can produce good numbers, but my argument was that Dasilva doesn't tune his customers cars himself..
I am not sure what DaSilvas cababilities are but if there isnt a local tuner that has skills is ther really a difference if he is there or not? You still get the same results.

You know I will be the last person to defend "the other shop" and all I can comment on what you guys are saying about them is

Rick and others, please make sure you do not confuse Superchips and Superchips Custom Tuning, now called SCT.

Superchips has hand held microtuners and preprogrammed chips (blue and red chips that say SUPERCHIPS on them).

SCT has two types of chips we can use. Their multi program chip and a Red Back chip that says "SCT" on it...not SUPERCHIPS.

This is why you did not find them as a dealer. They are on the SCT site.

Dasilva is a SCT dealer just like us. Do they custom tune in house....have they sourced out SCT tunes...I don't know

Do we custom tune in house. Yes. We do not simply plug in a pre-burnt chip and go, or send "data" to someone in the us. Every car I touch get's a full CUSTOM TUNE. We do tune fox body's, we can answer all your questions on the spot and will not put you off and tell you to come in after we send out information.

As far as us, we have the most up to date and high tech tuning tools offered

I know you were not taking a shot at us. I am just clearing up the situation for people who think all shops are like the others.
