99GT with VT Shotblock and VT Stage 2 Cams....NUMBERS INSIDE

You don't expect me to post numbers before Steve do you :laughhard

Steve will post the number shortly.....

Scott@VTEngines 04-06-2005 03:14 PM

Well???? Bastid........fess up! :deal:

1low03gt 04-06-2005 04:05 PM

:bleh: What's the hold up. :banghead:

P.Meister 04-06-2005 04:41 PM

I am waiting to talk to scott.....I am too anxious to see the actual power it will make once the motor has miles on it. This thing only had 100km on it (scotty from VT said the numbers are right on for how many miles the engine has on it)

I am very confident with a few more * of timing and more miles on the motor it will make much bigger numbers

P.Meister 04-06-2005 05:24 PM

I think Steve might be picking up his car.....I have the sheets ready to go but I will wait for him....he has been super pumped about getting his car.

Some details:

-100km on fresh VT Sportsman Short Block. Roughly 9.7:1
-VT Stage II Cams
-Dragon Plenum
-Accufab 75mm TB
-Flowmaster Cat-Back

Will post more comments about driveability and even a video so you can hear the cams. It sounds great!

Thanks to Paul @ Steeda.ca for the tune, Scott @ VT for the motor and all the guys at Concepts on Wheels! :tup

PO10PONY 04-06-2005 05:59 PM

1low03gt 04-06-2005 07:35 PM

Scott@VTEngines 04-06-2005 08:17 PM

A/F was pretty much 13.0 all the way. No richer than 12.9 and no leaner than 13.1. These are numbers given from my LM-1, brand new sensor logged via Raptor

BlueGT 04-07-2005 12:22 AM

I'll be back @ Steeda to get a new clutch and OR/X and then run'er on the dyno with 94 once the motor is broken in :tup

03WhiteGT 04-07-2005 01:05 AM

Great numbers :tup Why did you stay with the stock compression?

Guess it's time to think of a clutch?

I stayed with stock compression for a few reasons. The first was to leave the option open for a blower/turbo and the second was to be able to run mid-grade gas.

MUSTANG GUY 04-07-2005 02:19 AM

Nice numbers Steve, cant wait to see and hear it in person!

It was open last week-end :tup

White97 04-08-2005 01:21 AM

Very nice numbers, can't wait to see what it'll run.

Oh and btw.. I have your timeslip for your 13.970 run... you ran against me at St. Thomas that day. You were car 413, I was 298 with the pathetic 18.134 run at the time (best 17.6 that day :( ). I can scan it tomorrow if I remember.

I'd love to go to St. Thomas this weekend for the cleanup day but I don't think my engine will make it, it's about ready to puke. :banghead: Hopefully my job interview goes well and I can get my project going again and be up with you guys in the 13s! :tup

:tup Do you have any pictures of your car? So many runs that week-end I can't remember.

BIZ 04-08-2005 07:54 AM

Very Nice Steve...as Zavke says lets get it too the track...

Now who was the closest when we were guessing numbers...http://fool.exler.ru/sm/bis.gif

White97 04-08-2005 08:07 AM

This is mine:

http://www.stang232sc.com/car1.jpg

It was the same day as the J-body car show.

5PointOHNO 04-08-2005 08:12 AM

with that power curve, your peak #'s don't really matter. Simply awesome curve, great average HP. That motor will do great at the track, but will the driver

Scott@VTEngines 04-08-2005 10:00 AM

I have a great idea Steve......put some miles on it first! :deal:

BlueGT 04-08-2005 05:24 PM

She's going back in Wednesday for a new clutch and it'll be dyno'ed in a month or so. We'll see how she does then :tup

Damn!!

what VT motor did you get????

PO10PONY 05-11-2005 06:00 PM

I'll be running the stock heads with a Kenne Bell Twin Screw intercooled S/C at 14 PSI.atop of a VT Sportsman shortblock with all forged internals (Rods.Crank,Pistons, upgraded oil pump with billet gears,Billet trigger wheels, new timing chains and a Cobra R water pump and the Reinhart Cooling mod has been cancelled out)

Should be real fun once she's broken in

Can't wait!!!!
